On a challenge from one of my (5) sisters - here's my first journal/blog entry. She's so lucky that I'm a procrastinator.....I get some of my best/most creative stuff done when I'm procrastinating. I'm one of the librarians at my church and a dear sweet elderly lady asked me to order several books from her (which I promptly did--I LOVE buying books!)....anyway, they arrived this week and I SHOULD be processing them so that I can hand them all to her tomorrow at church. But instead, here I type!
In an attempt to continue to build the Adult Christian Fiction in our church's collection, some of the books I ordered were from Lori Wick, Leisha Kelly, and Karen Kingsbury. I had bought several books at Sam's club by two of these authors (which is even less expensive than Christian Book Distributors) -- which were part of a series. Of course they weren't the first in the series, so this lady at church was just helping me to aquire the complete series. I've heard a lot of good things about the Redemption Series by Karen Kingsbury. The only book I've read by her was really good---I could not put it down and found myself just BAWLING on the couch at 3 a.m. when I finally reached the end-- a real tear jerker!
Today I have cherry red tulips on my table - (which today is wearing a valentine table cloth). I'd take a picture, but my husband has my camera.
I ran 3 miles today, just in my neighborhood. It's six tenths of a mile around the block (and rather hilly). I hadn't run since Thursday - the day I ran my longest ever - 13.25 miles. I was trying to see if I could actually cover that distance as I'm considering entering a half marathon sometime this Spring. I have friends who are doing the MORE marathon in March (2 women each run a half marathon and combine their times to get a marathon time. One of the women must be over 40). I thought it would be fun, but think I may go local after looking into airfare and lodging in New York City.
I did visit New York City last summer with my two daughters and my best friend and her two daughters. We loved it. We went to the American Girl place and had a blast!
Gotta go play a game......I did already play Roald Dahl trumps at the Mall after we ate dinner in the food court with some friends, but I wanted to play with my on (#2) tonight. I'll just let the lady at church take the books with no labels.....she'll just be previewing them for me!!! That gives me a week at least!!

That book you bawled through...you also bought me one summer! I read it, loved it, kept it awhile then passed it along to Yesterday's Books in Coos Bay (for some $). Well, Heidi went Christmas shopping there, went to purchase the book, and found MY name in it!!! She bought it for Marti as a gift! So funny, now it's back in California! Oh, thanks for the book!
